This course provides a foundational understanding of the core principles of Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, with a high-level introduction to Power BI. The curriculum is structured around a real-world process I previously managed manually for a former employer. We will develop a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to track construction tasks for new homes, storing the data on SharePoint for ease of use. We will then implement Power Virtual Agents to guide users on enabling bots within Microsoft Teams, directing them to documents scattered across various SharePoint sites, such as loan paperwork, budgets, and sales contracts. I see significant potential for these bots within HR and IT teams, particularly for handling repetitive inquiries. Next, I will demonstrate how to configure simple flows in Power Automate to automatically save attachments from specific senders (in our example, saving inspection reports organised by the bank) and create other straightforward flows to capture data from Microsoft Forms into SharePoint. We will also build fully automated processes using the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams. Once the app, bot, and flow are complete, the final step involves creating a simple Power BI report. We will use Power Automate to send a snapshot of the latest completed tasks to a specific recipient (the bank in this scenario) every two weeks. This snapshot will include the completion dates and budget amounts for the tasks, all of which are collected within the app, to support drawdown requests. Finally, as this course is designed at a high level, I recommend that learners leverage ChatGPT for more technical aspects, such as the coding elements or formulas in Power Apps. This is covered during the course, where I demonstrate how to effectively utilise ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
