Requirement for Superset Consulting A major financial services firm sought to transition away from a leading commercial BI solution for one of its key products. Their goal was to migrate to an open-source system, specifically Superset, in order to achieve significant savings on licensing costs.
Deliverables NobleProg held several project meetings with the client to thoroughly understand their requirements, scope, risks, and technical environment. This collaboration allowed us to develop a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and track the project’s progress. Our lead consultant focused on aligning the existing data architecture to meet the specific reporting requirements for each report type. They recommended necessary changes to the data stores to ensure the best use of Superset and optimal performance, while also providing guidance to the implementation team. After optimising the data store and data pipeline, our consultants began building and deploying a diverse range of reports based on existing requirements and new requests from both the business and its customers. To present the data exactly as requested, custom plugins were developed to enable more interactive data presentation, including features such as drill-downs.
Outcome The consultants have been creating new dashboards while ensuring that sufficient knowledge is embedded within the customer’s organisation to maintain these dashboards and reports independently.
The project is currently ongoing and has been well received by both the client’s business stakeholders and their end-users. To reflect the project’s success, its scope has been expanded to include additional products and end clients.
