This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of the Systems Modeling Language (SysML), its application via MagicDraw/Cameo software, core Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) simulation techniques, and established best practices in MBSE.

Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), Decision Model and Notation (DMN), and Case Management Model and Notation (CMMN) are three Object Management Group (OMG) standards for modelling processes, decisions, and cases. This course provides an introduction to each standard and explains when to apply which one.

Gaining a solid understanding of the UAF 1.1 concepts within the context of the NATO NAF v4 Architecture Framework is highly advantageous. The UAF Domain Meta-model (DMM) captures various stakeholder concerns related to a system—such as security, information, or performance metrics—through a set of predefined viewpoints. These are then mapped to the corresponding views in NAF v4.

Conversely, the Architecture Stages outlined in the NATO NAF v4 Methodology guide users on how to efficiently leverage UAF views to ensure coherence and completeness, while also enabling traceability from high-level strategic goals down to the personal and physical resources required for their implementation.
